At the heart of our journey is a passion for cleaning and a belief in the power of small business. Over 15 years ago, I took my first steps into the cleaning industry with nothing more than a desire to be my own boss and a willingness to learn. With no prior experience in running a business and only a background in retail and hospitality, I started a domestic house cleaning business at the age of 19.
From those early days of knocking on doors and delivering flyers, the road to success has been paved with hard work, determination, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. My very first client, who I still remember fondly, was the spark that ignited my love for providing a quality service and taking pride in the work I was doing. For five years, I honed my skills, built a team, and learned valuable lessons along the way.
It was during this time that I stumbled upon a niche that would change the course of my career—oven cleaning. What started as a reluctant addition to my services soon became a specialised craft that I perfected. Through trial and error, research, and innovation, I developed an eco-friendly oven cleaning process that not only restored ovens to a brand new condition but also delighted my clients.
As my passion for this specialised service grew, so did the business. Shine Oven & BBQ Cleaning was born, and with it, a new chapter in my entrepreneurial journey. By 2017, I had fully transitioned from house cleaning to focus solely on ovens and BBQs. The business flourished, and with the support of a dedicated team, we expanded our services, bringing on board talented individuals who shared the same commitment to customer satisfaction.
Today, our business generates a healthy income, and carries the weight of over 300 five-star reviews across multiple platforms. We’ve been finalists in the National Australian Small Business Awards for three years running— along with being the best cleaning service in New South Wales on Product Review. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team and the smooth operations of the business.
